I went on a bike ride and stopped over in the cemetery to sketch for a little and take advantage of the gorgeous weather.

Apparently I'm drawn to various cat-like sculptures. I seem to find a new one to draw (not on purpose) every time I go...

We've been planting lots of flowers lately around the yard (when I say we I mean that Claire, our mom, and I have been picking them out and my dad's been doing all the work:)

This was the stuffed animal that every kid has that got dragged everywhere and lost all of his fur in the process...He lives on a shelf on my desk now.

More Fish

I bought a new set of water colors, and the fish were begging to be painted again. Howell is the bluish purplish reddish one and Helios is the Yellowy brown one.

My sister and I took a bike ride to the cemetery so I could sketch (and catch my breath).

This one got kind of out of perspective, but I like it anyways. The name was pretty degraded, but Claire figured it out by feeling the letters and looking at other nearby stones.



There's a lot of these limbless trees all over the cemetery. In my gravestone symbolism book it says that they can mean that you were the last in your line, or that your life was cut short, or that you were a Woodsman of the World (which is an old fraternal society) This guy was 91, so I'm going to assume that his life wasn't cut short... While I was sketching a guy with a huge dog came by and tried to eat me (the dog, not the guy) He was very cute and fluffy though, so I forgave him.
